When you create a profile you automatically become the PM. If you find a orphan profile you may click adopt profile and become the PM. If there is already a PM you can request to be added to the trusted list.

Welcome to Wikitree.  Add profiles for your parents, then your grandparents.  Make sure that each ancestor is not already on wikitree before you add them. Also, add sources when you make changes or add profiles.  Family Search has free sources with only a login required.

You create new profiles or adopt existing orphaned profiles. You can also be added as a manager by an existing profile manager or you can manage a particular profile as the result of a merge.
