Help needed sorting out Peter Goertner, Gortner, Cortner, Cotner family

I'm working on some of the Cotners that are in Harrison County, Indiana.  My husband's paternal grandmother is Clara Cotner Rhodes.  There is a book, and it is out of print, called "A Window to the Past: A Family History of Peter Gortner-Cotner 1704-1753 and His Descendants" by Neal Cotner.  I do have a copy, but I do not have it unpacked yet as I am in the process of moving in to a new house.  Once I get my stuff where I can access it, I'll probably be able to help you sort some of the mess out.

I found this book today on familysearch.org . . . you can't download it, but you can read it.

. . . or not. There are several lines here that aren't necessarily related, and more than enough confusion about it to go around. I'm spending most of my genealogy time lately trying to flesh out Cotner family trees to connect mine.

I think we should start a one_name_project for this surname and it's many variants. I've already emailed them about starting this project . . . I'd love to untangle this Peter Cotner (et al) mess . . .
