Hi Arelene, great question. I've added Charles' wikitree ID number to your question so that others who want to help can find it easier and I also added the tags for brickwall, New York, and Conneticut because maybe some folks who follow those tags may have some hints for you.
I would recommend that if you haven't done so already, do a wider search than Conneticut. it is possible that he was born elsewhere, his family moved there when he was small, and after migrating the "I'm from Conneticut" morphed into "I was born in Conneticut." Also serch for all variants of the surname. I'll do a search myself and will post again if I find anything. Good luck!
