Hello
I have had an interest in genealogy since I was a young teen, about 50 years now. Being a retiree has allowed me to pursue this hobby more frequently.
I was introduced to WikiTree by a cousin, Beth Stephenson. We share ancestors of the Schlemmer family. Beth gave me a link to the family on this site where I learned that I have the wrong mother for my 2gr grandfather Schlemmer. I did not know this family history well and her connection opened a new and corrected line to my family.
The majority of my family arrived in Marshall and St Joe Counties in northern Indiana in the mid to late 1800's, with the community of Bremen, IN being the main town. Beyler, Seiler, Berger, Zimmer, Ewald, Geyer, Huff, Balsley and Weiss are a few of the names from this group.
About 20% of my ancestors were in America during the American Revolution. These family names include Milner, Loehr, Philbrick, Banfield/Banfill, Yockey, Hepler
The majority of my lineage originated in Alsace, France and Bern, Switzerland.
I look forward to learning more about my ancestors, their origins and connecting with cousins.
