Getting an 848 error(template parameters). Not sure what is wrong or how to fix it.

Suggestion 848 means that there is a problem with the parameters on the template.  For the profile you mentioned, the Suggestion is about the World War II template.  In the Info box on the Suggestion, it states 'deprecated parameter' Branch and then 2nd says 'unnamed parameters'.  Since this is a locked profile, we can't see what is actually in that template, but from what I can see in the Info box, you probably did not 'name' each of the parameters.

The help page explaining that template is World War II template.  The template should be in the following format.

{{World War II|branch=<service branch> or <country>|startdate=service started as dd mmm yyyy|units=unit1; unit2|enddate=service ended as dd mmm yyyy|rank=xxx|unit=1st regt, div, ship, etc|image=image file}}

Each 'parameter' is supposed to have the 'name' that is associated with each item.  In this instance, you need it to have 'branch=' in front of 'Royal Canadian Air Force'.  The other names seen above need to be added to the other parts of your template, depending on what you have used.  This change was made quite a while ago with the parameters being required in the templates, but I know that the templates have also been updated recently and Ales may have updated some of the suggestions, also.

When I had this suggestion a couple of weeks ago, the problem was that I had simply left off one of the = signs. Even though I had left that line blank, the = sign was still required. After I asked a question on here, Aleš fixed it for me and explained what I had done wrong.

There doesn't appear to be enough information on the 848 error help page to address the particular template you are using -- https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:DBE_848

Aleš has made changes to reporting errors for some templates recently -- so perhaps he made a mistake with this one, or he needs to update the help page.

The help page can't explain the parameters for all 700 templates we have. It is now explained on the template page. There is also a link in info column to the template, so it is easy to see how the template should be used.

Maybe I could explain the types of the comment, but I thought that deprecated parameter is quite clear. It means you are using a parameter, that is no longer in use.
