19th cousins, once removed.  Wow, pretty far off!

And someone has made you "not cousins." You can still be my ninth cousin though!

Its hiding wink:

Anytime you get "No Relationship Found" click the button:

SEARCH 30 GENERATIONS

for a deeper look.

By the way, it is through many of these searches that I find ancestors I've never heard of.  For example, one from the top I (supposedly) have Thomas Stanley KG (Knight of the Garter).

I say supposedly because I haven't vetted the line and for all I know it is someone's Ancestry.com/FamilySearch fantasy tree cheeky

But either way, doing relationship searches like this have opened lines of research for me that I wouldn't have ordinarily looked at.

His father (my supposed ancestor with Alexandra) is Sir John "Lord of the Isle of Man, Sheriff of Anglesey" Stanley, a Magna Carta gateway ancestor.

Hey, look at this Karen, we are cousins - 9th cousins!  Pretty close (compared to Alexandra cheeky).

Yes! I saw it's through the Aspers in Pennsylvania. Neat! Much of my line is thanks to the research of Tim Kimmel of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I'm 20 degrees.  But I was really excited to see that someone has entered a new connection that lowered my degrees to Henry VIII.  I will have to investigate that more.

That's great! I enjoy investigating the paths to check for inaccuracies and to add relatives.

Alexandra and Richard are 11th cousins four times removed .

I will have to remember update my Wiki_Cousins page and include Alexandra.

by Richard Ryker G2G6 Mach 4 (48.7k points)

Whoops! It looks like that connection has been severed.

But you're my eighth cousin once removed through the Frey and Neff families from SE Pennsylvania. And your connection path to Alexandra winds through my cousin Arbella (Roush) Carter.

Oops, I've learned how to see more distant cousin relationships. :)

You have been added to my Wiki Cousins space page. Hello Cousin!

It shows us as 13th cousins but I know there is an error with the common ancestor, so otherwise we are 22 degrees apart through the Conger/Ayers connections.

we are 19th cousins twice removed, and had to check that 3x because the drag and drop from there to here was dropped and I'm not sure where it went -- "nothing" is what arrived HERE -- anyway we are both desc from John Stanley (abt.1386-1437) | WikiTree FREE Family Tree -- if not with a great deal of confidence

Given enough corrections LOL we are likely to end up not-cousins

We're 20 degrees removed, but I've been playing Connect-a-Thon with her Carter relatives, so we'll see if I find a shortcut!
by Karen Lowe G2G6 Pilot (189k points)

Woot! My fifth cousin twice removed Arbella Roush married Alexandra's great-great-uncle Harvey Carter. That should bring me down to 18 degrees tomorrow.

Alexandra's ancestors connect me to many people:

Alexandra and Michel are fifth cousins once removed (what is the winner's prize? wink)

by Michel Vorenhout G2G6 Pilot (307k points)
Bragging rights, I think?

Also I'm very curious now who our common ancestor is... I'm guessing one of my Dutch ancestors.

Yes, Anthonie de Kan from beautiful sea faring Middelburg, Zeeland, the Netherlands in beginning 19th century. One of his descendant went to Canada, not so long ago actually.

Nope, 21 degrees. According to the relationship finder we are 15th cousins 1 generation removed. Apparently the Gregory that married Taylor and had a daughter who married Pendleton on my end is of the same Gregory line that marries Benedict on her end.

I missed this last week, but want to add our connection! I don't have the degrees, but we are 11 cousins through shared ancestor Richard Olmstead-4. Greetings cousin Alexandra!
