I have been researching for over 40 years. Know considerable about DNA. Took the courses from Brigham Young U. from Dr. Wright. Have been all the different positions in the Puget Sound Gen. Society of Bremerton, WA. Have been to Salt Lake City library every year for one to two weeks each time from 1980 to 2019. Am manager of 2 websites in migrations.com which is now inactive. Have helped put numerous county websites on line in GA. Manage a number of graves in FindaGrave. my tree is in Ancestry, familytreedna.com, and the Mormon church. Put out newsletters for 7 years on the Horton family and was President of Horton's of the World for almost 20 years. Helped type the family sheets for NGS and am a life member. member of NEGHS and Conn. Did transcribing for NEGHS and the familysearch (the LDS site) Taught genealogy and DNA (know DNA very well and have solved my own problems with it). Have a French line so know research in both English and French lines in Canada.

Hi Jackie and welcome.  For clarification are you talking about the trusted list of one particular profile or something different?
You can edit any profile that has the Edit button on it.  It would be preferred to add Sources with anything being edited.  If you are going to make relationship changes, it can be advisable to send a message to the PM unless you have clear sources stating the relationship.

For profiles that are Project Protected, you have to be a little more cautious about what types of editing are being done, but you can also leave a comment on the profile mentioning the source and information that you want to add. You cannot add  or change Relationships on Project Protected profiles, but you can leave a comment on the profile with the information.

Thank you for your contributions to genealogy!

To get on the trusted list, go to the profile in which you'd like to have edit privileges, scroll down to the box with an orange outline where you'll see the words "If you're a family member request to join the trusted list." Part of this sentence is a hotlink that will send your request to the profile owner. If they own multiple profiles for a family, they can add you to all of them.

Other "open" profiles can be improved at will, it's only the controlled/private ones that you need to be part of the trusted list.

Thanks for joining!
