Hi Michelle, I'd be happy to have you join. You can add your name and interests on the Kirkland One-Name Study page. You should then start adding your husband's line here at Wikitree and use the category and sticker on the Kirkland profiles.
We need to talk to discuss your husband's lineage from Archibald back. I have that line in my personal tree which I maintain at ancestry.com. James/Alexander/William are incorrect. See Kirkland Family Roots, p. 91: "Earlier researchers mistakenly claimed the descendants of this John had a James Kirkland as their father rather than John Kirkland. The entry in KSB II, page 472 corrects this error. The issue of this John are listed in KSB II, page 483. They were: Archibald Kirkland, Daniel Kirkland, Robert Kirkland, James Kirkland, Jane Kirkland, Sarah Kirkland, Nancy Kirkland, and an unknown daughter."
I've worked researching the descendants of Robert and Richard Kirkland of Virginia for decades. I actually provided information to Dr. Peacock while he was writing his book. Since his death, I've 'taken up the torch' to continue the research and keep the lines straight. There is a massive amount of incorrect information on ancestry and other websites. I strive to keep the lines straight here at Wikitree, always using primary sources and reviewing both Jim's book as well as both volumes of the Kirkland Source Book of Records.
