second opinion needed on unsourced parents for this woman [closed]

Question

Françoise Bouet (Bouhet on her marriage) does not have parents named on her marriage record (on profile).  They are not named on her second marriage either.  

We know she is first cousin to  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cardinal-74 Simon Cardinal's children, that is clearly stated in a document from the era.  Simon's wife is   https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Garnier-128 Michelle Garnier.

It's never explicitly said anywhere from which side Simon and Michelle are her uncle and aunt, but right now she is sitting with parents named Denis Boutet and Jacqueline Rouget, who have very divergent names.

Need second opinion before I go detaching these unsourced parents from her please.

I think you can discount them, Danielle. The mother is listed as being born in Brittany, having a child in Aunis, and then dying in "Hotel" (???) in the very South of France. This doesn't make any sense and can't come from a reliable source.

It's pretty obvious a set of 19th-early 20th century ancestors have been grafted as "ancestors" of Denis Beaudet.

lol, that is indeed funny, even has modern dates on the supposed ancestors of Denis Boutet, turned into Beaudet.

I thought it looked odd that the grandmother of a man born about 1630 would have been called "Rose de Lima". That was long before the saint was canonized, and she was only born in the late 1500s. But, since the namesake grandmother was really born in 1834, all is well

hmm, you pique my curiosity there, when was this saint canonized exactly?  There is a location on île Jésus next door that was named Ste-Rose (village now incorporated into city of Laval), and later appears to have had its parish name expanded to Ste-Rose-de-Lima.

Coming back to this a bit late - Rose de Lima (1586-1617) was canonized in 1671 according to this Roman Catholic site.

Hard to see how the grandmother of someone born in 1630 could be named after her .

I agree that the parents are very doubtful. I will contact you privately regarding what I've seen in the Marans records, but in short, there isn't much there.

thanks Roger, anything on the extended family that you find would be a help, Michelle Garnier has 2 sisters who are both among my ancestry, it's a whole group of related families that came here, many in 1659.
