Hello Pip, thank you for asking. I am from Louisiana and my immediate family connections that I was able to find led backwards to Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia then England. Prior to my results in Wikitree, I discovered Farrars in Canada as well. Turns out there are a great many Farrars. And many in Louisiana from the same town as my granddad, that I am surely related to, and never had a reason to know them because my granddad and brothers moved to another parish of Louisiana. Anyway, these are my direct ancestor names, though they each had many brothers, sisters, and cousins: Rass ,my granddad 1904, his dad James Walter M.1876 and wife Josephine, his dad Robert Francis and wife Maneta, then Henry Lansford Jr 1816,in Alabama and wife Salley. Then H.L Sr. in Alabama, then Stephen David Jr. 1797 in So. Carolina and Catherine, then S.D. Sr. in Georgia in 1756. Then Richard in 1727 in Virginia, then William the 4th 1682 and Sarah, all 5 generations of William were from Virginia with the 1st William born in England but records have stopped there, so far. I followed his wife Cecely to 1600 England, but no other details.
I apologize for listing them all... but my main names would possibly link us through the many cousins. My first Farrars in Louisiana are from Union Parish. And came from Mississippi firstly. Hope this provides an easy link. But I'm sure we're cousins somewhere Very cool to meet you, Pip. Love your name. I am 62, by the way, and my given name is Nan.
