There are no other McSwains on Wikitree in the time period I am looking for (1700-1750) but I have my ancestor being married to Thomas Francis Dorsett and raising a family in Chatham County NC around 1750. (McSwain 298.  It seems the other McSwains from Rutherford County are not her family, as far as I can tell.  Anybody know about McSwains in NC?

Making a connection to the Rutherford County McSwain's might be difficult, but don't rule it out. I have some families that migrated there, one of which originated in the Chatham County area. Best of luck with your research!
