Can you give us some more information on what you cannot do?  Do you want to use a slash in a name field?  Do you want to add a different Last Name? If you want to add another Last Name that someone is known by, you can add it to Other Last Names field.  Each Name field should only have one name.  Other First Name / Nicknames / other spellings of names can go into the Other Nicknames field, with spaces between the names.

Hope that helps.

I had put RGN/SCM which was Registered General Nurse / State Certified Midwife and I do  not  understand why this was a mistake
Probably could be done with a comma not slash.
I believe a space is more common, and works without a "suggestion" being set off - and is what Elizabeth has now used.  The "problem" is, is that the slash is commonly used to separate joined letters - such as L/Cpl, which we cannot use, even though it was used in their day. Elizabeth is more used to using the RGN/SCM than RGN SCM, which doesn't look quite right to those of us used to a different way.

It may have something to do with the fact that / messes up the search engine.

This was in my profile so it was personal
Do you mean you put it in the biography field? There is should be okay.

If  you use it in any of the fields other than the biography, the computer system showing the website wikitree.com will generate errors. For sure you cannot use it in any name field. For that it does not matter if you set a profile private or not. The / character has special meanings in programming, making it difficult to use in any field that is used for searching like names, nicknames, titles etc.

Probably the best solution is use a - or _ or dot (.).
I removed it
It's a suffix.
it has already been fixed I removed it but just don't know why there was any fuss over it
It's a technology issue, Elizabeth. The underlying tech doesn't like it.

I probably should have written that wink
