He may have been a POW in the civil war?  If you could get his death cert, it may list more info.   1900 census shows mother Jane Rash.

Hi Cyndie, welcome to WikiTree.  Do you have a date of birth or death and a location?

My grandfather Frances Marion Hasty was born in 1842, I believe in Georgia and died in Henry County, AL. He was married to Martha (Parr) Hasty. Their son James Samuel Hasty is my grandfather born in Henry County, Alabama born in the 1870s? And his son, Charles Vickus Hasty is my father.
My father, Charles Vickus Hasty, was born in Abbeville, AL (Henry County) and died in Crestview, Florida.

Hi Cyndie, I have sent you information about upgrading and adding your ancestors to WikiTree.  This might be your great grandfather

"United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M4J2-HW8 : 24 August 2017), F M Hasty, Abbeville, Henry, Alabama, United States; citing enumeration district ED 84, sheet 648C, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), FHL microfilm 1,254,015.

Wendy

Thank you, Wendy! FM (Frances Marion) is my great grandfather and his father is James Hasty - I'm very interested in the Scottish ancestry of my family. I have family information that ancestors lived near Glasgow and some moved to Northern Ireland before coming to the US. My ancestry.com shows my DNA summary as 59% England, Wales, Northwestern Europe, 38% Scotland & Ireland. I appreciate any other help you could give me or where else to find more about this Hasty line. Thank you again!
