1841 census UK Kent Frindsbury Aylesford North district Reg No HO107 page 9, says Robert was born in Kent and he was 30 yrs ( guessing 1811 year of birth).

1851 census UK Kent 83 Parry Street Northfleet says Robert was 42 years (guessing 1809 as year of birth).

1861 Mercy is head of the house and in 20 Wycliffe Road Northfleet and it is hard to say which is his death record.

Is this him?

"England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975", database, FamilySearch ( : 19 March 2020), Robert Roberts, 1808.

Although this is from FamilySearch, FindMyPast has the same person linked to an 1829 marriage.

Using Freebmd and the General Register Office, I would suggest that the death registration is Q3 1852 Gravesend district - Northfleet is in the Gravesend registration district and the GRO give the age at death for Robert Roberts as 42 which would tie in with a birth c 1810.

There are some problems with this profile's children. From freereg the following children were baptised to Robert and Mercy. The list matches pretty closely with the profiles and census records but not exactly.

Robert William ROBERTS 23 May 1830     Strood : St Nicholas of Myra
Mary Ann ROBERTS       15 Jan 1832     Frindsbury : All Saints
Eliza Ann ROBERTS      24 Nov 1833     Frindsbury : All Saints
Mary Ann ROBERTS       25 Oct 1835     Strood : St Nicholas of Myra
William ROBERTS        10 Dec 1837     Strood : St Nicholas of Myra
Edward John ROBERTS    08 Mar 1840     Strood : St Nicholas of Myra
Caroline ROBERTS       09 Jan 1842     Frindsbury : All Saints
John Edward ROBERTS    06 Apr 1845     Frindsbury : All Saints
Harriett Maria ROBERTS 07 Mar 1847     Frindsbury : All Saints

So James seems to have been baptised as John Edward, Edward John and John should be merged and William John should be replaced by William b. 1837 (and seen aged 3 on the 1841 census).

Also when a profile source is familysearch could you just copy and paste the citation onto the profile like this:

"England and Wales Census, 1841," database with images, FamilySearch ( : 21 May 2019), Robert Roberts, Frindsbury, Kent, England, United Kingdom; from "1841 England, Scotland and Wales census," database and images, findmypast ( : n.d.); citing PRO HO 107, The National Archives, Kew, Surrey

It only takes a second and makes it much easier for people to follow your research.

I disagree that James doesn't belong :

GRO Reference: 1844  M Quarter in NORTH AYLESFORD  Volume 05  Page 429

Matches John Edward and Harriet Maria :

GRO Reference: 1845  M Quarter in NORTH AYLESFORD  Volume 05  Page 443
GRO Reference: 1847  M Quarter in NORTH AYLESFORD  Volume 05  Page 443

Cannot find a Caroline.

Caroline is there too, but her mother's maiden name was mis-recorded:

Thanks, Paul .. I had the "similar sounding" option on, but it didn't pick that up.

You're right! But James John died as an infant which is why he wasn't baptised.

He still belongs.

EDIT -- it's the death on the profile that looks to be incorrect.

I think the Edward John (profile) may be supposed to be Richard John (birth year matches the profile)  :
