Advice before editing this pre-1700 Hough profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of Richard Hough. This is what I can add:

I think that Ann should be shown as his [spouse], the Last Will and Testament is sufficient to make it legitimate.

Children unknown is a bit confusing; Richard had an "illegitimate" child as stated in the same register: A bastard child supposed to be Richard Houghs was brought into the (???) dead, and buried in th North Church yard under the middle window the 10th day of April 1643.

Richard also formally (I surmise legally) adopted a male child (Thomas Jones) who was mentioned in Richard's Last Will and Testament as "his boy".

I understand it complicates matters as we have missing information: no spousal last name, illegitimate son and adopted son, however I believe it should be done.

These are the sources I am using: England Cheshire Parish Registers 1538-2000

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Mark, thanks for asking.  You need to make sure there is not a project attached to the profile, and you need to follow style guides.

I am going to give you a link to follow that will help you on Pre-1700 profiles.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles

You need to pre-certify yourself to work on Pre-1700 profiles and on the bottom of this link, you will find that information.

If you have any other questions, this is a great place to ask them.

Hope you had a great weekend.

Mark, thank you for selecting my answer. I hope I was able to help you.

I appreciate this very much.
Thanks Cheryl,

Thanks, the weekend was exhausted though. To be honest I don't feel like doing anything, I'll blame it on the weather (it's an easy fall-guy). I'll need to give this a glance in a couple of days at the soonest. Take care all.

Mark

Mark,

That's about a good excuse as any. laugh

Rest up, take it easy - and then - GO!

Have a good one, my friend.
