Help me track down William Rickhow's wife Amelia

My Rickhow cousins out in TX are a tricky bunch to research. Take cousin William for example -- he expertly dodged census-takers, pops up in 1869 to marry Amelia M. Curley in Harris co. TX, and then is missing in 1870, when I find Amelia living on her own with a household of young people:

Rickhow, Amelia, b. 1830 Louisiana

Lilleux, Emeline, b. 1855 Louisiana

Lilleux, Placey (Placide?), b. 1857 Louisiana

Chandler, Marianne, b. 1848 Texas

Chandler, Haley, b. 1867 Texas

Ten years later, Amelia (or "Delia") is still living in Harris co. TX, now with a niece and nephew in her household: John Curtthurs (? Caruthers?) age 26 and Yunn (Yvonne??) Curthhers.

I'd like to know who Amelia was before she married William Rickhow, and it'd be nice to know what happened to William as well, but there's precious little evidence of that!
