• I added additional checking of template parameters. That was in suggestion 848. I created 4 new ones 894-897 that will cover all parameter problems.

Previous News

• I prepared two new suggestions (591 FindAGrave - Possible father and 592 FindAGrave - Possible mother) that list all missing parent relations between existing profiles. The suggestion is based on FindAGrave relations. In cases where both profiles are linked to findagrave and there is a parent relation on findagrave and there is no parent on wikitree, it suggests the connection. Of course you should first check if both findagrave memorials represent the correct persons on wikitree. Then you should try to find a source for the parent claim and add the relation if everything checks out.
• Added new magic word SourceJunk to search engine. It finds profiles with text "Family Data Collection" or "Millennium File" on the profile. Those are present on 47000 profiles. Here is a list of profiles with SourceJunk. https://wikitree.sdms.si/default.htm?report=srch1&Query=SourceJunk
• Updated display of WikiData suggestions 546, 563, 564, 565, 566 and 567. Now they display link to WikiData and the data from there.

• I added a new heading to GEDCOM Junk. There are 8000 new 853 suggestions.
• After completing most of the template documentation, I am starting to validate template parameters. First new suggestions include missing required parameters and using deprecated parameters. More will come soon. There may be some mistakes in template documentation. If so, just let me know. There are 9000 new 848 suggestions.

• I added a link to template definition on 84x suggestions in info column.

• I also added possibility to search by full template name. Use underscore instead of spaces. templatefull=Ancestry_Image

• I released a new version of WikiTree+ Chrome extension. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/wikitree%20/giodhdfeabddjnlhknbggojlgpnhanof It has a few new things also usable to DD.

I do like the parent suggestions. Been able too hook up quite a few families.

Thanks again for all your wonderful work on this.

I noticed at times that the expected results are not what one would expect. The cause I could find is that there are some fields still 'filled' with a string from a previous search, generating an unwanted 'and' search. It is a bit of a job then to check what field to empty.

Would it be possible to add a button to reset all fields on https://wikitree.sdms.si/default.htm to 'empty'?

Are you talking about dropdown lists that appears after you type some text in suggestions search? That is autocomplete of the text entered. I also occasionally noticed, that it behaves strange.

Other dropdown lists are created by your browser.

That link works after you click 'get profiles'. If however you have a previous search somewhere and do the search on the text (..ged part), you (well, me) will get 0 results.

All of my 1776 , Spanish American War & War of 1812 Stickers are on this week’s suggestion list. The stickers all work. So I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

Also 896 Unknown parameter in template for roll of honor stickers. And 895 Using Deprecated parameter in template  for cemetery stickers.

When template https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Global_Cemeteries was converted to sticker parameter sub that defined the subproject was removed. That made it not needed. I think I should program editbot to remove it. it is used on over 600 profiles.

Parameter image is expected to have a name of the image and that image should be of the known type (.gif, .jpg, .png) That isn't the case on your profile. There is no need to have | image = in case there is no image specified. Removing the image parameter will clear the suggestion, although I think I will adjust the algorithm to allow empty parameter.
