Hi Frank!

Welcome to G2G!

Can i suggest that you tag your question with the tag 'dna'?  That way it will get noticed by a real expert.

Meanwhile, it looks like the two kits that were compared share 217.7 cM.   Research done by the Shared cM Project would lead one to suspect that the two individuals are probably as close as 2nd cousins.  Here are the actual predictions from the tool:

  • 68%Half GG-Aunt / Uncle 2C Half 1C1R 1C2R Half GG-Niece / Nephew
  • 17%Half 2C 2C1R Half 1C2R 1C3R
  • 13%Great-Great-Aunt / Uncle Half Great-Aunt / Uncle Half 1C 1C1R Half Great-Niece / Nephew Great-Great-Niece / Nephew
  • 0.81%Half 1C3R † Half 2C1R † 3C 2C2R

This is compatible with your results, where the comparison predicts that the Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA) is likely to be found 3 generations back.

There are other useful bits in your results, but better that you get an answer from someone else with more expertise than i have.
