You would think, wouldn't you, since my ancestors include two families in Chester at that time, Giffin and Bradshaw.  They must have rubbed shoulders with your mother's ancestors - maybe they shared a bottle of rum (Giffin), or a prayer (Bradshaw)!

I've heard from a lot of people this week, John, and so far, you're the closest. Our MRCA shows as Maj Nathaniel Parker who settled in Nictaux, but both of us show the Liverpool Freeman clan in the line of descent, so I'm not surprised we share 81 common ancestors ...

We are 10th cousins, with common ancestor William Fowler. My husband and I always try to guess which of us will have the closer connection... this week my connection was through his family, and 20 degrees. It connected through another Fowler, but one seemingly unrelated to me.
