I have recently had cause to challenge the reality of the wife(s) of Philip Boteler born in 1414    in Watton Woodhall,. Wikitree has his unsourced  wife as Isobell Willoughby born 1413 in Woolaton, NOtts.died 1470/71

I now have reason to belive she is not his wife , Can anyone throw any light on the issue?

There also appars to be a spurious husband of Isobel - one John Austen who appears also to be her husband. I belive that Isobel may be te wife of John Austen and been wrongly  connected to Philip Botteler?

Another unsourced tree has the possibility of 2 different Philip Botelers and a Bessingby as husbands  for an Isabel Willoughby.

I may be wrong but the descent on the wikitree profile does not appear to reflect the information from the "Boteler of Woodhall" pedigree in the "Visitation of Hertfordshire" here - https://archive.org/details/visitationsofher222732cook/page/n127/mode/2up

It does not show the Philip line descending from Ralph and Katherine.
