Why is Multiple Births sticker is picking up the wrong name?

+3 votes

I just added the Multiple Births sticker to a profile, and instead of picking up the name on the profile, it picked up the name of a sibling:

I opened the profile, made an edit, and when I saved it, the sticker picked up the correct name.

Any ideas why it would be doing this?

Edited to add: I created William's twin and waited to add the sticker until after I had created the profile, and it worked fine. This problem only seems to happen when you add the sticker at the same time that you're creating the profile.

I believe this is a standard problem when any sticker is added at the same time the profile is created - see for example https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1080593/bug-report-using-sticker-on-new-profile-gets-wrong-name and https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/838766/something-wrong-with-my-died-young-sticker. According to Jamie's comment in the second of those threads, "Even if you don't make another edit it corrects itself after a few hours.".

I frequently add the {{Died Young}} when I create a profile, and don't recall ever seeing this mix-up of names.  I wonder if it's a Wikitree thing, or a browser thing, or a Wikitree and browser interaction thing.

Thanks, Paul! I wish those questions had come up when I created mine. indecision

I guess I'll just not worry about it anymore. lol
