Do you mean a place called 'Lindley' in England?  It is part of Huddersfield, in West Yorkshire.  At least, that's one of the Lindley places.  Here is a link to the Wikipedia page, which includes places and people:

There is a parish Lindley near Otley in West Riding, Yorkshire. The Otley Church has a brass with a Lyndley family tree, and there is  a Lindley Wood Reservoir.  My Y DNA match to a living Lindley from the Otley line is distant, though, and the immigrant James Lindley line is to Cheshire. There are 2 other Lindley immigrant lines from England.
