Who the heck is. my father.

I am. Alfred Wayne. Smith.  However I am no a Smith. I was born  September 29. 1940.  My mother tried to cover up my birth name by have the Doctor not send it into the State. (Missouri) as she was going to get married.on 24 October 1940. She married Marion E Smith. Went back to the doctor he fill out the certificate and sent it to the state. 1stsaid. Alfred. Jr. Parish.  Doctor only cross  out original Name and wrote in the new, As a kid I went through mom’s locked box and saw my birth certificate. At first I though I had two names. Parish Smith. By 7th grade I realized the truth. In 1955 she wrote the state for a new updated version. At 17. I stole my original birth and hid it, went into the Army for next 20 years. By the way, her marriage only lasted a few years.  Parish is my mothers name, I have. Mize,  Winberry, in DNA. But. Heathcock,  hathcock, hathcoat, is the main one on my DNA.  I took. FTDNA,   Myheritage, Ancestry,. Reason I mention Mize. And. Winberry is because I lived with them when I was young. That was in Dunklin Co Missouri.  My aunt said onetime my Mother hung around Steel Missouri . This is in 1930. And. 40..  she would never tell me who my father was till the day she died.  Everyone is dead now,  I tried 1st cousin but they never seem to answer,  thank you all.  I going to take more test and hope someone who is high in there CM # will pop up.

Hi Alfred, from your profile it appears that you did a mitochondrial DNA test (via your sister) at FamilyTree DNA, but not a Y-DNA test.  If you want to find/confirm you father, having a Y-DNA test would be most useful.  For the month of August FamilyTree DNA has a sale on DNA tests.  I suggest getting the cheapest one, which is called Y-37 ($109). The more expensive ones do provide higher resolution, but you probably don't need it for what you are looking for.

I see you have also taken autosomal DNA tests at Ancestry, FamilyTree DNA, and myHeritage. You should download the raw data from one of those tests and upload it to Gedmatch.  You don't need to upload all three of those autosomal kits, just one.  

Doing those two things would maximize your number of matches and maximize your ability to prove/disprove who is your father.
