Willocks Family New Zealand

Question

Hi My maiden name is Shirley Willocks I have been tracing a direct line down the Willocks family for a number of years and have struck a dead end so on here I am hoping someone can help. Apart from searching my family, I love music and reading and love all animals. I was fortunate that I had 3 of my 4 Grandparents living until I was well into my 30's and asked a ton of questions, some of which turned out to be quite hard to answer as they had been told some not so true facts from their parents. I love being a gen detective but am currently stopped through lack of information and I have searched but with no luck so far. Hopefully someone on this awesome website will be able to point me in the right direction.

Do you have the birth years and marriage years for your grandparents, and their locations such as country, county and city?

Is there anything specific in terms of birth and marriage years and locations that are close to when and where earlier generations are that lead back to where the dead end is stuck?

All I have is as follows William Willocks married Janet Brydie I Think and definitely at St Cuthberts Cathedral Edinburgh 12 June 1846 and I think but am not sure Williams father is James and his mothers name is Helen Lindsay. Any help with this would be absolutely wonderful Thanks.
