Great question Mary, if you want to take a person out of your tree you need to remove yourself as profile manager and from the trusted list.  From Ashley's profile, click on the privacy tab and then scroll down and click "remove yourself."  This should do what you're trying.

Do note that this won't work for profiles of people who are still living.  They need a profile manager and you will need tor remain so for the time being.

Surely one only needs remove oneself as manage and from the TL if they no longer wish to manage/get feed about.  Removing from lineage would just mean detaching profiles erroneously attached. 

I manage plenty of profiles for people who are in no way connected to my known lineage, but that doesn't mean I want to remove myself as manager.

I mean no offense by anything I have said, but apologise in case offense is taken.
