Can we connect Rosie Perez without her former spouses?

You fantastic GFR folks managed to get Rosie Perez connected to the Global Tree via one of her exes, but the View thinks she may be more open to her connection status if we can get it through her own family or her current husband. I am currently digging information from her memoir for us to use, and already have her father's family running, if anyone wants to jump in and help us connect her that way. She also needs a bio for you Note-vember participants.

Here is her grandmother: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Roque-18; her profile is open. I will update as I get more up.

Say, I'm browsing an Ancestry tree with over 30,000 individuals (gee, sounds like mine) which includes Rosie's grandfather Juan Serrano y Anglada at http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/3611653/person/25334460055

Anyone want to help me cruise this tree for possible links to AJ?

Thanks, Karen! If my weekend improves (sick in bed at the moment), I will try to look around. Those big trees take some time to navigate.
Aw! Hope you feel better soon.
Also, I'm tracking some other Ancestry trees at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Lowe-866_Perez
I spent time on Rosie's maternal line a few days ago.  The problem with accessing pre-1885 records in Puerto Rico is that you need to go directly to the source documents on the island.  However, church documents are no longer available to the general public in many towns - a frustration for serious genealogists. What we need is to find a gateway ancestor who is a descendant of royalty in Spain (not unusual), which will definitely link to many others.  Someone needs to come forth with additional sources that can add another generation or two to this tree.

I spent a few days on Rosie's tree last week and went as far as I could without having a gateway ancestor yet.

I have a question about one of her 2x great grandmothers, Petrona Lopez Ojeda.  I haven't been able to find a death certificate for her yet, but I did find death certificates for 3 people with the Lopez Ojeda combination surname who lived in the same town around the same time - all 3 with the same parents.  Is it safe to assume that Petrona is another sibling?  If so, I found parents who were born outside the island - they emigrated from the Canary Islands.  Thoughts?

Robert, I think I would link Petrona to those parents and describe your reasoning and the indirect evidence in the bio. As more evidence is found we can change our conclusions if needed.
Thank you.  I wasn't sure how to proceed and needed reassurance!  I will add this information today.  Hopefully I will be able to go even further on this branch!
