Seeking parents of Leo Noles.

Hello,

I have hit a brick wall in my research trying to find the parents of Leo Noles, born in 1829, in Perry County, Ohio. My uncle took a YDNA test that revealed no Noles matches, but many Whitney matches at 25 markers. (possible NPE situation.) Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I looked but could not find his parents' names. The Y-25 issue could be a few different things.

  • Matches could be from before surnames were common in the area(s) concerned
  • NPE event - of either or both Uncle's and the matches
  • Name change for other reasons in past

If it were me, I would try to prove to my satisfaction the other lines in Uncle's tree, using autosomal testing.
