Cecil and I are connected through my Alexander and Blount ancestry for 21 steps.

We do share blood ancestry as well as 9th cousins, twice removed.  Common ancestor: Robert Hutchins.  We are also directly related through our common Blount line. Common ancestor: James Blount, Sr.

I am 20 degrees from Cecil B. DeMille ...... we share the same grandfather; his 7gr & my 10gr : John ROBINSON ..... who was the pastor of the Mayflower Pilgrims group in Leiden, Amsterdam.  I have half a doz Mayflower ancestors that repeat 6 times ..... my 2 nephews have 12 ancestors on the Mayflower that repeat 8 times. My dad is 19 degrees (he is still living).

 I think we can confidently state that Cecil B. De Mille was well connected, given the number of cousins that popped up ... but of course this was more about degrees of separation -- the degrees outlined are on my father's side from the Wooten family (THEY are well connected folk, also)
