Hello, I have removed the category "Soldier Immigrants from Fermoy, Cork to Australia" done by editbot
My mother, Alma (nee Cotter) Davison and earlier generations before her came from Fermoy, Co. Cork, Ireland. Fermoy was a fairly new town created in 1791 by John Anderson. In 1797 the British built army barracks there.
The soldiers and the native Irish were separate entities.
John Anderson's descendants who are Scottish descent, came to Western Australia but they were not soldiers.
Two much more useful categories would be:
St Patrick's Church, Fermoy
Fermoy, Co. Cork, Ireland.
Many thanks
