I have a file containing some 60,000+ lines of all the male descendants of Jean Riou and Catherine Leblond married 10-Jan-1678 at Ste-Famille, Île-d'Orléans, Québec, Canada; I have written Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro to parse this data and create a GEDCOM using the 5.5.1 document from FamilySearch.org; I want to transfer all the data into GEDCOM; I am creating IDs for individuals and marriages so I can link individuals to their parent's marriage up and down; I have many questions about how to properly create the GEDCOM so it can be imported into Ancestry.com, FalimySearch.org, and WiKiTree

Hi Tom!  Thank you for joining our one world family WikiTree.  Welcome!

I don't think there is a GedCom coding region for godfather or godmother.  You could add them to a baptism record or list them as ASSO-ciates.  http://wiki-en.genealogy.net/GEDCOM-Tags  You should also look at the process for adding a GedCom to WikiTree:  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:GEDCOM

would this be the correct syntax for a godfather/godmother;
François Scarabin is the godfather to Françoise Roc'hiou
Françoise Roc'hiou is the godmother to Françoise Roc'hiou

Sorry, Tom.  I don't know how to code a GedCom.  I would have to do it the other way around.  I would add the godparents in a GedCom program as Associates and then export the GedCom from the program.  I use an iMac program called GeditCom II for this purpose.
