Need some guidance filling in gaps, making connections, with the family of James F Helms of Wayne Co., Indiana.

Question

I've been working on this branch of my family for a while, and keep coming up a bit overwhelmed and confused when I reach James F Helms. I believe I have a general idea of his life, but I'm having trouble connecting the dots.

I have attached his WikiTree profile with my notes and sources so far, if anyone knows anything, spots something I'm missing, or has any ideas as to where I could look for more, it's much appreciated. Thank you!

Find A Grave has Michael Helms born 1786, PA. Death on 9 Jan 1868 at age 81-82. Burial at Doddridge Chapel Cemetery, Centerville, Wayne Co., IN. Spouse is Nancy Weekley Helms 1780-1857. Children shown are Isiaah Helms 1814-1874 and Elizabeth Helms McCashland 1819-1857
