Source is unsourced tree

Question

Source listed on profile is " Unsourced Family tree handed down to______."

Is that now considered to be a real source?  Or should this profile get an Unsourced tag?

Actually, this particular language is system-provided.

In my experience over the last month, when you add a new profile and don't put anything in the Source box (or something that is only three characters long), then when you hit the button to save the changes, the system will come back with the Source box in red and two check boxes next to it, with one saying "[[XXX]] will add sources by XXX (i.e., within 24 hours)" and the other saying "Unsourced Family tree handed down to [[XXX]]". When you check that box, that language gets added to the profile as a source.

It can have an unsourced tag.  Profiles that are Pre-1700 should have sources, other than family tree, which is not considered a valid source for those profiles.  Unfortunately, family trees are allowed as sources until that time.

It's a source by the strict definition of "the identification of where you obtained information,"  so it probably doesn't merit an Unsourced template.  Why not spend a few minutes finding better ones?  Or, PM the WikiTree ID to me (rather than posting it here and risk embarrassing someone), and I'll take a look.

Would it not be better to tag it as Unsourced?  Then it would be visible to the Sourcerers, or people such as yourself who would have the time  and inclination to source for others?  It would be sortable.  It is not my intention to embarrass anyone, I only want a clean and accurate One WikiTree.
