Adding an individual as a "spouse" to my Maternal Grandmother?

I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this question, so if not, please move to the proper location.

I am trying to figure out the best way to add an individual as a "spouse" to my Maternal Grandmother, LaVerne Isabel Whiting.  This particular individual was never actually married to my grandmother, because after two failed marriages, she did not want a third.  However he was the father figure in my mother's life (after my grandparents divorced about my mother's age being 7) and was the one who walked her down the aisle when she married my father.  This individual Ivor Leland Bosket (no profile as of yet) took care of all the manly chores a husband is theoretically responsible for (mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, etc.) in the 1950's and 1960's.  My immediate family all called him "Papa Lee".  Since he and my grandmother were not physically married, but he was the father figure in  my mother's life, can I legally add him as a spouse to my grandmother?

I don't think WT is all that excited about whether a couple are legally wed according to the laws of the era in whatever nation, and many PM will argue that since they lived as if they were legally husband and wife, they were "married" Just make sure that any children are correctly credited to the biological parent(s)

If I was doing this profile I would add him as spouse with an explantion in the Notes, he certainly filled the role of father to your mother.
