Unresponsive Members

Question

I have tried for 3 months to contact two profile managers to request trusted list or be manager.  The profile was expanded by me after agreement with the first person in 2011.  Something happened but now these two are unresponsive and I am not shown as a manager.  I did the Trusted List request and direct emails twice. It IS open, however.  I would like to be shown as manager, it was a very long, hard research project.  Thank you for your input.

I agree with Ros that you should file a UPM form, since your communications have gone unanswered for so long. You deserve the courtesy of a reply, at least.

However, I also agree with Marion that you shouldn't expect to be added as profile manager just because you have worked on the profile. As presented in your post, your reason seems more about personal pride than collaborative spirit. Perhaps you stated better reasons in your trusted list request and emails.

Go through the Unresponsive Profile Manager process: find the UPM form on Tree & Tools page of the profile.

Thank you Ros.  I couldn't find the specific link. One more question:  I have seen contributors put notices like "in the event of death I would like Wikitree . . ."  Does Wikitree take over management? Is there a link to accomplish that?

One of the PMs is active, and cannot be forced to add you as manager/trustee. It would be nice for you to be added, but as you can edit it anyway they might not see a reason to do it.

What many wikitreers/PMs do not understand is that being added to a TL is the only way for people to follow changes to a given profile, since there is no other way to "watch" a profile. So if a profile is open, a profile manager should honor all requests to be on the TL.

PM is different.
