They are at different levels in the hierarchy. United Kingdon Genealogy Resources sits under Europe Genealogy Resources.  UK Genealogy resources sits under United Kingdom Genealogy Resources.

Both seem to have been abandoned. England, for example, is missing from the UK.

Looking at the United Kingdom one, it refers to the United Kingdom project, which clearly says it is an umbrella project for the individual sub-projects.

I would say that all the sub-categories under UK Genealogy Resources could be moved up under United Kingdom Genealogy Resources with no problem, and the extra level UK one deleted.  It is currently the only sub-category under United Kingdom Genealogy Resources category.

 - The 'UK' one was created in 2011 , whereas the 'United Kingdom' one was in 2018 - - ? is it in the spelling , but to me the earlier should remain, and be re-titled after the later one is 'merged' away/into the former - - - cheers

lol, unlike profiles where we want the lowest number of a profile to get merged into, in this case Categorization has been aiming at reducing abbreviations in category names, UK being an abbreviation would thus go away.  When it got created really has no relevance.
