He was born in France  (when/where?) and married in Nouvelle France according to his marriage record his parents are Jean Morard and Anne Durand both from France. I was hoping to get help in finding sources. I can't read French.

Fichier origine gives his precise date and place of baptism: 12 Mar 1705 in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Note that at the time, that place did not belong to France, but to the Pope. So I think it should be written as "L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Comtat Venaissin, États pontificaux", or the longer "L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, évêché de Cavaillon, Comtat Venaissin, États pontificaux" (WikiTree's convention is to have place names in native language; one may argue that the official language was latin and the spoken language was provençal...). It became part of France only in 1791.

Judith, Julien used the fichierorigine.com site to find this person.  This is an excellent source for those who migrated from France (and now we know some came from places owned by the Pope too!).  Often relatives are included in the notes so can be used to find parents, siblings and sometimes their spouses.
Hi Julien,

Thank you for the very interesting information! This is the first time I've heard of the Pope owning places before they became France. I feel I need to research and learn more about this.
