The only record I can find that lists Peter May and his wife Margaret as being from Mecklenburg is the 1860 U.S. census, which also lists John born in 1855 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MXCM-5X6). The death certificate of Peter's son Anton, though, states that he was born in Trier, which was in the Rhine Province of Prussia (and is rather fitting, as in America the May family settled in New Trier Township) (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QV37-BS2Y). There is indeed a baptismal record (with an exactly matching birthdate) for an Anton May born as son of Peter May and his wife Margaretha Blaeser in the village of Kehrig, about 45 miles northeast of Trier (https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/21211649?h=e4e206&utm_campaign=bandido-webparts&utm_source=post-share-modal&utm_medium=copy-url). This all suggests that Peter May is the person who married Margaretha Blaeser in Kehrig on 14 Feb 1843, as is already indicated on the profile, albeit without location or source (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:8RB9-VCW2). This marriage record gives his parents as Matthias May and Maria Henn (I have translated the Latin versions of their names from the record into German ones). This means that Peter is the Peter born 28 February 1816 (the date is already on his profile) in Kehrig to Matthias May and his wife Margaretha Henn (her full name may have been Maria Margaretha Henn) (https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/21211713?h=cd4d6d&utm_campaign=bandido-webparts&utm_source=post-share-modal&utm_medium=copy-url). Matthias May and Maria also had a son Andreas in Kehrig in 1818 (https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/21211733?h=8d5f36&utm_campaign=bandido-webparts&utm_source=post-share-modal&utm_medium=copy-url). and a son Johann Friedrich May born 1814 (https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/21211821?h=cd692b&utm_campaign=bandido-webparts&utm_source=post-share-modal&utm_medium=copy-url). Unfortunately, there is a gap in the local marriage records from 1793 to 1812, so it appears the marriage record of Matthias and Maria Margaretha has not been preserved (though, given that during this time the area was under French administration, it may have been recorded in some civil records).

Oh my God, than you!!!!! I and my sister have been looking for a long time but  she said she did have trouble translating what she found.  Am trying to fill all blanks in my fan chart so I can gift them to my family for Christmas. I am very appreciative!!!!
