Which is the correct spelling - and do you have sources to back it up?
Hi, I am not sure which is the correct surname. In the newspaper are both names mentioned. I have no clue how to find out the correct surname. They were born in GB.
Well, according to the GRO a George Bomforth's birth was registered in the June Quarter 1839, at East Retford, Nottinghamshire.  In the June Quarter of 1841 a James Bomforth was born, also at East Retford, Nottinghamshire.

Both had the same mother's maiden surname : Theaker.

SO I would go with merging the Bamforth profiles INTO the Bomforth ones.

That would mean the UNKNOWN mother can now have a proper Last Name At Birth.

Are you Profile Manager for any or all of them?
Melanie, just to make it more difficult, the spelling Bumforth is also in the mix
Yeah .. I saw that newspaper clip -- but the GRO has Bomforth.
I am not sure how to deal to those profiles. I know they are the same person.
Do you have any immigration information?

I have the family in Nottinghamshire for the 1841 census.  All the names match, except baby James had not yet been named.

I think Harriet UNKNOWN can become Harriet Theaker - and the rest should be merged into Bomforth.

I can propose the merges, if you're unsure how to proceed. All three merges are proposed.

Thanks you very much Melanie, I did the changes. I hope all is done right. If you find time have a check. Thanks again. Christine

Checked.  I've added the birth info for George and James -- and the1841 census data.  I'll grab the correct citations for the rest of the family and add it to them as well.

If you don't like my formatting, feel free to change it.  I will not be offended.

You should be able to get George's Will information from Archway.

Thank you Melanie for all your help and contribution to fix this families entries. Cheers, Christine

George Bomforth's Will leaves whatever is left after paying debts to his sisters, should they be still living.  He names those sisters as Harriet Maria, Sarah Jane, Eliza, Mary, and Hannah (married name Elerig).  (Other than the siblings already connected, there was an earlier George (born 1833, died between 1833 and 1839),and possibly an earlier Mary (born 1832, died between 1832 and 1836/7).)  Hannah must have been born in New Zealand.
