Advice before adding father of this pre-1700 Pendleton profile?

I can add a father to the profile of Edmund Pendleton. This is who I can add:

• Captain James F. Pendleton

These are the sources I am using:

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Hi Enrique, it looks like there is already a profile for Edmund Pendleton, with the parents as identified on the findagrave memorial.

For some reason the Last Name at Birth on this other profile is Pedleton, but I have proposed the merge so that Pendleton ends up being the LNAB.

However neither profile appears to have appropriate sources for pre-1700 profiles and findagrave is also a poor source for this period, apart from details that might be on the actual gravestone.

So, more research really needs to take place to source the parents, and children of Edmund.  The book, Brian Pendleton and his descendants, 1599-1910 looks like it might be a reasonable source, though it refers to, rather than directly cites, primary sources.
