Including photo on a G2G post

Question

How do I add a photo to a G2G post, but one that isn't attached to a profile, is general interest and is not related to family history. As an example there are photos in the Weekend chat that are scenic.

I have tried copy/paste with no success.

Images posted to G2G must already exist on the internet.  You cannot upload directly from your computer, as you can with profiles.

You can use a space page and upload the image to that - or you can use an image hosting service such as https://postimages.org/

If I use a space page can I delete it after, as I only needed it temporarily?

I would say no, because then your images will disappear.

Sorry wasn't clear, delete that image needed temporarily, off the free space page, not images that are attached to profiles.

Yes, you can delete the image - but it would no longer be in the G2G post (I don't think) because it needs an anchor.

As everyone else here is saying, you can not upload a photo to the forum. You could use something like google drive or dropbox if you set the permissions to allow everyone access. You could (as has already been suggested) create a space page, if you have a facebook or similar account you could use that but ideally (in my view) you would upload the photo to a wikitree profile (such as your own) even if the connection was highly tenuous. Presumably if you are posting in the G2G the issue is genealogy related. If the post (and photo) need to be temporary you can close the post and delete the photo but if there is an outside chance it might come in useful or be of interest then as far as I can see it would be doing no harm and might as well stay there.
