I Signed in on the 28 Janusury 2016 I’ve added 149003 contributions and only 2904 thank-yous

Logically, you'd need to be adding more useful info to other active member's managed profiles. People typically need to be notified of your contribution in order to provide a thanks.
Ok I understand, Thank you.
When you get to the Pearly Gates ask St. Peter how many mental thank yous have floated up there from people who have read things you provided over the years, but some too long ago to notice on the changes page.  When he gives you the amount the resulting whish will sweep you through the doors and you may finally receive them in person.  Keep up all the good work you are doing and know in your heart there are many people who gain much happiness from the results without expressing their feelings on paper.
Don’t worry about it too much.  You can create a detailed award winning profile that took you a lot of time to make and get no thank you’s, but on the other hand you can scour profiles that someone created for spelling errors only and get 50 thank you’s.  Just the way it works.

You can do all that and still get no thankyous.

I have two recommendations:

1. Thank others for their contributions when you see things they did that you think benefit the community.  Often after I thank folks for their contributions, they reciprocate.

2.  Make friends with Astronaut Susan Laursen. wink

2. That is some wonderful suggestion cheeky

Hi Donnie, whether others ‘like’ your contributions or not in no way demeans the effort you have put in. Your contribution to Wikitree in making the world tree bigger and better is appreciated.

The contributions made are listed in the Activity Feed of the PM and there are different kinds of Activity ... the scoreboard or the tally sheet on these is generated by computer ...

Ok Thank you. So do you have any suggestions on how I can be more noticeable to others.

laugh  Again, both Mike and Darren have pointed out the path to take, and one has said 'do not expect to be thanked' for whatever contribution you make, of any kind (which have been listed)  ...

There's the example set by Frank Gill and Betty Fox, who will spend some time looking for sources, proofs, for other people who post in G2G, and those they try to assist are not their relatives nor co-members in a Project or Study ... there are others who do the same thing as Betty and Frank.

Ok Thanks, right now I’m having problems cutting or copying and pasteing. So maybe tomorrow I can find out what’s happening to this thing. I had a lot of work I wanted to do tonight but. It isn’t working.

And Donnie, I think Facebook still has the Like function? And on your page of Badges, there's a tally for each badge for "Like" ...

I notice that there's a thing on profiles that has to do with Facebook and it says "Share" which I think if you click on it you can get that profile on Facebook ... When you Edit and then Save, it shows up

Someone else might know about what this is and what it means

Ok Susan, Thanks. and Thanks a lot Beulah

It is the luck of the draw if a certain contribution will receive a "Thank You" or not. It could come from contributing on other peoples managed profiles or a particular surname or adding a question or answer on G2G.

Looking at my last 5 "Thank You" received I have one for answering a G2G question, Two for a Data Doctors suggestion fixing, One for adding a child to an existing profile and one for confirming status buttons. The data doctor "Thank you"s were from a couple of contributions I did in 2017 but only given on 23rd August 2020.

Just keep making contributions as even if someone doesn't take the step of doing a "Thank You" it is still appreciated no matter what or when your contribution was done. .

I think it's great that you have made so many contributions!

It does depend a bit on what profiles you contribute to, if you get any thanks. My contributions are often to families that noone else on wikitree are related to, which means there won't be a lot of thanks.

If I make a calculation on our number of contributions per thank you, it seems you have gotten a thank you for every 51 contributions, while I have gotten one for every 125 contributions smiley

Helping members who ask questions in the G2G forum also often renders thank yous.
