Problem adopting Profiles

I continue to have a problem adopting profiles with no profile manager. When attempting adoption, I am informed that the profile is not public and therefore can not be adopted. A current example is Urban-1013, Alfred E Urban. I have found several similar profiles with no manager and only a find-a-grave reference that are a problem to adopt and link to existing family member profiles.

To adopt a locked orphaned profile that is not required to be open privacy, you should email the team (info@wikitree.com) to request that the profile be opened.

You should provide, in my opinion and experience, a valid reason (beyond wanting to edit the profile) for your wish to adopt the profile if the profile represents a person born in the last 100 years.

If the profile is required to be open privacy, you can file an open profile request (link may be found in profile ID drop-down menu, under Family Tree & Tools tab in Contact section, or on profile page; privacy level permitting).

Thanks for the information. The information spawns another question as to how this type of profile without a manager was established. I have found numerous similar profiles, some of which I was able to adopt when they were related and others that I just gave up on since they were because were a problem.
Edits to open profiles for more recently born individuals can result in those profiles' being locked, especially if they are connected to private/unlisted profiles.

Older profiles, without recent edits, may have been locked before our current 150/100 guidelines.

Whether or not a profile is managed has no effect on the above scenarios.
