My grgrfather, James Morrison MARK, was a Scots Irish through the patrilineal line and was born in Glasgow, living in the Govan area. His parents were from Ireland, Jemima MORRISON and William MARK. I have several records thru 1911, but his death record is giving me a problem.
Thru Scotland's People I have a transcript of what appears to be his death record: July 25, 1940. Spouse is the same, Isabella GIBBON, and his son William was an informant. Father is the same, William Mark, blacksmith, but the mother is different. James occupation as plumber is correct.
She is listed as Jemima MARK (correct) but her m.s. is listed as WILSON where it should be Morrison. Now two of James' daughters have the middle name of Wilson, which derives from the matrilineal side, Gibbon, whose parents were James Gibbon and Ellen Wilson.
Could this be a transcription error or is this the incorrect person?
