Thank you for answering, Marion. I also found that record on ancestry. It is a birth record, which matches the birth year that is written on my Abigail's gravestone. But, how would I know if this Abigail, born in Norton, MA, is the same Abigail White who married Gideon Soule in Newport, RI? I don't think I should just assume it is the same person, without further proof. Maybe I should search out the will of Jacob White, to see if she is mentioned? Any other ideas? Yes, there are several trees on ancestry that claim Thomas and Sarah to be their parents. The problem is, our Abigail White was born 1746. Thomas and Sarah were married in 1755. So they are not her parents.
