I don't see a clear identification of the source that says proper first name should be Adoniran. Perhaps is it indicated in Genealogy of the Dodge Family of Essex County ?
The Find-a-Grave memorial is captioned "Adoniran", but the grave stone inscription is Adrian; the linked Boston Globe article says Adrian; Maine Births & Christenings and Massachusetts Deaths both say Adrian.
True, the name is (rather clearly) spelled Adoniram (not Adoniran) on the 1850 US Federal census. But it's Adrian in other census ("United States Census, 1880," https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MF3L-YFP -"United States Census, 1870",https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M6DJ-T9G - "United States Census, 1860", (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MDHB-V38 -etc.) and in every other source I could find.
If the name was really Adoniran, it would be advisable to explain clearly on the profile why Adoniran is correct and all other sources stating Adrian should be disregarded.
