I have found James Ernest at 49 High Street, Littleham, part of Exmouth in Devon, England, aged 18. Not loaded as yet onto Wikitree.

He is living with a family of Hore's. (No sniggering please) He is described as a grandson, presumably of the Head of House, Rebecca Hore aged 77. The other inhabitants are all Rebecca's unmarried daughters.

If anyone can help sort out how he is related I would be thrilled. 6 hours work has merely confused me.

Betty - Based on the current exchange rates, BMD certificates ordered from the UK cost $14.47 each.  The only place you should ever order from is direct from the General Records Office.  It's the only source that should be used, anything else is a rip off and is banking on people's lack of knowledge of what to do, especially if they come from another country.

Great info Brenda. I'll file it for the future. Thanks.

Betty
