Hi All,

I have been researching the Bowerman family tree for around 10 years. I have traced my Paternal line back to 1581 through primary sources to the marriage of Hugh Bourman/Bowerman and Joan Tolly. However the line goes cold prior to that. I have been to the church of St.Mary's in Charlbury and have seen Hugh's death registered in April 1623. I am looking for any clues as to his birth place. The Oxfordshire historical Society state the Bowerman name seems to originate around the Charbury area from the late 1200's. Other family tree's (on ancestry and in the USA) make a leap to join Hugh to the Bowerman family in Hemyock, Devon but my research show's this to be impossible as the Hugh from Hemyock actually died in Malaga Spain and was the Principal Counsel for the English Merchants in Spain. I have seen his grave in the cemetery in Malaga. So if anyone can help please do.

Hey Michael,

Welcome (and glad to see more Michaels here!)

Very nice to see all the work you have already done on your tree and you have already added a lot of profiles here on Wikitree. It would be even nicer if you could add the sources to the profiles. See point VIII in the honor code. I will add some pointers to some profiles as well.

Sorry I cannot help you much with the 1200 block. If you add the pre-1500 tag to your question you might attract more proficient people.
