Access to PRDH is free for Quebec residents

Quebec residents who have an account (it’s free) with BAnQ (Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec) can access without charge PRDH (Programme de recherche en démographie historique).

Now that's interesting, BAnQ always gave access to PRDH via its libraries, but you had to be in a library to access.  They are also putting a lot of old notarial records online, I am speaking of complete sets of records by notary.  Obviously not all done yet, seems to be an ongoing project.

With the Covid situtation, I think this is their method of making access easier.  Lots of facilities still not open here in Montréal.

It could be temporary then. There is an agreement with certain librairies in Quebec and PRDH to give free online access from July 1st 2019 to 30 June 2021. Maybe BAnQ has a similar agreement.  Agreement
