probabiliy of wife's maiden name same a fathe's middle name? [closed]

Samuel B Howard-9025 married Mary Polly Biggins-37 yet wikitree names his father Reason Howard-1572 with a middle name of Biggins.  that's the middle name i have always had for Samuel's son Reason (his list of children is not complete on wikitree.  my lineage going up stops at Brice Howard-22149 an i am wanting to extend upward soon.  being still relatively new here i want to know which way would be right.  i belive my 3ggf has a middle name of Biggins and my 5ggf does not.

There is no evidence that this person, Reason/Rezin Howard, had any middle name at all (it is unlikely that he did; middle names were extremely rare in Britain and the colonies before 1800 or so).

And on edit: it is also exceptionally unlikely that this person lived to age 110.

It is entirely possible that Samuel married a cousin, and it is possible that somewhere further up the line the same thing happened, hence Biggins as middle name. Unfortunately the only way to find out is to keep digging. Perhaps following Mary’s line will get the connection for you.
