Blood relationship of my great-grandmother to her adoptive mother

The connection finder this week reminded me that I'm related by blood to the Gould family that adopted my great-grandmother.

Scott Hutchins and Ann (Gould) Temple are both descendants of John Black.
This makes John the tenth great grandfather of Scott.
This makes John the fifth great grandfather of Ann.

So what does this make the blood relationship between Lula Louise Brown Temple Hutchins and Ann Eliza Gould Temple, a relationship which may have something to do with the adoption?  I know her younger sister, [[Brown-59563|Sadie Russell Brown Maxwell]] was some sort of cousins with her adoptive mother, too.
